Inflammations in the
shoulder articulation, more commonly known as
rheumatoid arthritis of the glenohumeral joints,
causes pains which can result in a limitation in
the movements. Even the most common movement,
such as combing your hair or wearing a shirt,
can become difficult.
As in other therapies, a medical check-up is the
first necessary step to allow the specialist to
understand the cause of the pain, and decide how
to cure the pathology.
As Doctor Ibrahim Mahmoud
explains, shoulder pain is not only caused by
inflammatory damage concerning different tendons
or the joint capsule, but they can originate in
localized areas in other parts of the body, and
be transmitted to the shoulder along the course
of the neural vascular connective tissue. Thus
the therapy must address both the resulting pain
in the shoulder and the area in which it
originates. For example the cervical column is,
often, the origin of pains which spread to
shoulders and arms.

The pain therapy recommended by Doctor Ibrahim Mahmoud,
a specialist in pain killing therapy, is a combination
of Trigger Point therapy and acupuncture.
|
| |
|
| |
 |
Trigger Point therapy:
consists in locating deeply inflamed muscular
points, called trigger points, and treating them
locally with injections of physiologic solution.
Calcium ions accumulate in these trigger points,
and are the main cause of the pain. We “clean”
the area from these substances with the
injection of physiologic liquid, reducing the
pain. |

Acupuncture therapy
modifies the electrical flow transmitted by the
sick cells with the insertion of thin needles
into the acupuncture points. According to the
cause of the pathology, the acupuncture doctor
selects the points in one or more meridians to
rebalance the electrical flow of the concerned
cells. Acupuncture acts at a cerebral level,
inducing an increase in the secretion of
endorphins, which help bear the pain, and cortisol, which is a kind of cortisone produced
by our body to hinder inflammations.
|
|
| |
|
| |
These two therapies have no
collateral effects because no drugs are used. They
can
also be used (and above all) in the acute phase, with
instantaneous benefits. Five sessions are normally
enough to restore a situation of energetic balance. |
