some facts
Indoor Spa Centre
Every hotel has its own spa centre, complete with thermal spring, thermal pools, saunas, mud-bath therapy suite complete with medical assistance, massage-physiotherapy suite and beauty centre.
Thermal Water
The water from the thermal springs in Abano and Montegrotto Terme is hyper-thermal. It emerges at a temperature of about 87°C and is classified as salso-bromo-iodic. More »
Thermal Pools
The thermal water pools are maintained at a constant temperature between 34/35°C throughout the year. The water emerging from the thermal spring is cooled before being used in the pools! Each hotel has at least two thermal water pools, one indoors and one outdoors, which in most cases are adjoining. This means you can immerse yourself in the indoor pool and swim out into the open air even in the coldest of months (not recommendable for those who suffer from neck pain).
From your room to the Thermae
You can go directly from your room to the pools, SPA, and thermal suite in your bathrobe using the reserved lift. Pure convenience! Some hotels allow breakfast to be eaten in your bathrobe.
Medical Supervision
All hotels have at least one doctor on duty in the thermal spa centre, who is available to evaluate your general state of health and to suggest a treatment plan on a case-by-case basis. Even if you bring along a certificate and prescription, a medical check-up in the hotel is necessary to establish your suitability to undergo a cycle of thermal treatments. The doctor also provides therapists with precise instructions on the number of sessions, duration, temperatures, and notes on the treatments, for maximum safety and results.
Thermal Mud
Covering yourself in mud is good for the human system: aside from its potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, we can add the stimulation of cartilage reconstruction, the strengthening of the immune system, the remineralisation of tissues and structural anti-ageing effects. More »
Rehabilitation
A stay at a thermal spa is a suitable environment for rehabilitation, be it for post-surgery outcomes, trauma/accident, or postural re-education. Rehabilitation in thermal water alleviates pain symptoms, accelerates the rehabilitative process and promotes muscle recovery. It can be aided by instrumental analgesic physiotherapy, decontracting and reactivating massage therapy. Every hotel has qualified physiotherapists and rehabilitators in its staff.
Inhalation Therapies
Inhalations, nebulisers, the humage technique, insufflations and irrigations: thermal water-based therapies, disinfectant for the ENT system, with repairing and normalising capacities. They are suitable for all ages, mainly for those who suffer from rhinitis, allergies, congestion and colds, as well as smokers.
Day Spa
The pools and thermae are accessible even if you are not a hotel resident. It is, however, necessary to make a DAY SPA booking with your chosen hotel. The hotel reserves the right to limit non-resident entry to the pools and SPA when bookings reach capacity.
